Connecting with Clancy Construction
November 21, 2025David Meade delivers a Growth Mindset themed keynote for Clancy Construction, in Co. KilKenny.
Connecting with Clancy
David Meade was delighted to join Clancy Construction for a major company gathering that brought over one hundred people together for a day of learning, connection, and ambition. Clancy Construction is one of Ireland’s most respected building and engineering firms, known for its strong values, its commitment to excellence, and its belief in building in partnership. The business has grown its reputation through consistent quality and through a clear focus on people. That spirit was VERY much alive in the room.
The event took place at the gorgeous Mount Juliet Hotel in Kilkenny, a venue that offered the perfect backdrop for a day of strategic reflection and shared purpose. Delegates arrived ready to take part, and the atmosphere quickly moved from warm to electric. The audience included team members from across the organisation, each bringing their own experience and insight to the day. Their openness created a powerful environment for reflection and growth.
Clancy's Growth Mindset Keynote
David’s contribution combined a keynote on growth mindset with an immersive team building experience using his flagship Give a Hand programme. He had worked closely with the leadership team for several months in advance, shaping a session that reflected the company’s values, culture, and aspirations. This preparation allowed him to design a keynote that was not only inspiring but also deeply relevant. Clancy Construction wanted a session that would stretch their thinking and challenge them to reach higher, and David built every element of the experience with that goal in mind.
His keynote focused on the psychology of high performance. David explored how small shifts in thinking can create significant improvements in personal impact and team culture. He explained how growth mindset principles can help individuals embrace challenge, learn from setbacks, and approach their work with curiosity rather than fear. The session offered practical tools that participants could apply immediately. These included strategies for overcoming limiting beliefs, techniques for building confidence, and ways to develop resilience in fast moving environments.
Speaking about the session, David said,
Constructive Feedback
The professionalism of the Clancy team also shaped the event. Their preparation, attention to detail, and openness to new ideas made collaboration seamless. David felt warmly welcomed and was struck by the pride the organisation takes in both its heritage and its future direction. He also expressed gratitude for Gerry Duffy, whose introduction made the partnership possible.
Reflecting on the day, David added,
“Clancy Construction has a bright and ambitious future.”
“It was a privilege to work with a team that is so invested in their people and so committed to continuous improvement. I am excited by the momentum they are building and I look forward to supporting them again as their journey continues.”
The event demonstrated what can happen when a company brings together curiosity, purpose, and action. It left the room more connected, more confident, and ready to apply new thinking to the months and years ahead.
